"I must admit that without the clones, it would not have been victory.
Victory? Victory, you say? Master Obi-Wan, not victory. The shroud of the dark side has fallen. Begun, the Clone War has!"
― Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda
Attack of the Clones is the second episode of the prequels and Star Wars overall.
Plot
After the defeat of the Droid Army and the arrest of Viceroy Nute Gunray, a bounty hunter attempts to kill Padme Amidala, under the orders of former jedi master, Count Dooku. Padme survives due to hiding in a starfighter (Disgused as the pilot) instead of the main ship. The Jedi Council doesn't belive Padme about the fact that Dooku was behind the attack. Jedi knight, Obi-Wan Kenobi and his padawan, Anakin Skywalker hunt down the bounty hunter, Zam Wessel, but she is killed by her boss to hide their identity. Anakin protects Padme while Obi-Wan goes to Kamino where he discovers a secret Clone Army, based on the mandalorian bounty hunter, Jango Fett, the very man Obi-Wan is looking for. Jango soon revals himself and fights Obi-Wan, then escapes to Geonosis to meet with Count Dooku. Obi-Wan follows him but is captured. Dooku tries to turn the captured Kenobi to the Dark Side with lies but fails. Anakin and Padme go to rescue Obi-Wan but they're captured as well. They're rescued by Jedi led by Mace Windu. Soon enough, Yoda arrives with Clone Trooper reinforcements. Mace kills Jango Fett but Dooku escapes. Anakin and Obi-Wan face him but they're ultimately defeated, Anakin evel loses his right hand. Yoda arrives just in time to rescue them but he can't prevent Dooku from escaping. Dooku meets with his master Darth Sidious and tells him that the war has broke out, their plan has sucseeded. Back in the Jedi Temple, Yoda warns Obi-Wan and Windu about a new threat: The Clone Wars.
